West Reno Shooting Leaves Police Officer Hospitalized

RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – Three individuals, including a police officer, were hurt in a shooting in west Reno on Sunday night.
Around 7:30 p.m., a gunshot took place on Sky Valley Drive next to an apartment building. January 8, 2023, on a Sunday.
Officers from Reno Police arrived at the scene at first on a “problem unknown” call.
It is uncertain what caused the shooting, however an officer who was on the scene confirmed that two suspects and two cops were all engaged.
It’s thought that one of the cops and both criminals were hurt.
Both the wounded police officer and one of the suspects were taken to a local hospital, where their current situations are unclear.
Police have evacuated nearby residents while they attempt to extract the second suspect from the apartment building.
Local SWAT units, REMSA, and Reno Police are present.
Police are urging the public to avoid the area since the situation is still in progress.
