Winter Storms Have an Influence on School Scheduling

RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – The Storey County School District has opted to cancel Monday’s classes due to the weather. There will be a district-wide school closure.
The Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District will open all of its schools on Monday, January 9, with the exception of Donner Trail Elementary. Heavy snowfall at higher elevations is allegedly making it difficult for buses to transport pupils to school.
Additionally on Monday morning, Storey County schools will operate with a 2-hour delay due to inclement weather. If the winter storms continue to make driving on the roadways problematic, officials warn closures may be possible.
After being affected by the winter snow, the Douglas County School District says Monday’s bus routes are back to normal.
