Metro Searches for Suspects in Series of Critical Hit-and-Run Crashes

LAS VEGAS, NV — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is pleading for public assistance following several high-priority pedestrian strikes over the weekend that have left multiple victims fighting for their lives.
Charleston & Mojave Dog Walker Struck
Detectives are still searching for a dark-colored SUV that fled the scene after striking a man walking his dog early Saturday morning.

The Collision: At approximately 3:00 a.m. on May 2, the victim was in a marked crosswalk at East Charleston Boulevard and North Mojave Road when he was hit.

Status: The pedestrian remains in critical condition at University Medical Center (UMC). His dog was found unharmed at the scene.
Sahara Avenue and Torrey Pines Investigations

W. Sahara Correction: LVMPD clarified details regarding a hit-and-run on West Sahara Avenue, west of Las Vegas Boulevard. A pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a truck that jumped the sidewalk and hit a bus shelter.

Torrey Pines & Lake Mead: A separate hit-and-run occurred at North Torrey Pines Drive and West Lake Mead Boulevard, where a female pedestrian was run over in a marked crosswalk. She was transported to UMC with life-threatening injuries.
Weekend Fatalities
A separate, unrelated collision in East Las Vegas early Saturday resulted in the death of a male pedestrian. This incident adds to a troubling spike in traffic-related fatalities in Metro’s jurisdiction for 2026.
