Physical Altercation During Armed Takeover
According to preliminary findings compiled by LVMPD Homicide Section detectives, three male individuals walked into the establishment with the shared intent of committing an armed robbery.
During the confrontation, the victim engaged in a physical struggle with one of the three robbers.
During that struggle, gunfire erupted, striking the victim in the upper torso.
Immediately following the gunshot, all three perpetrators fled the storefront on foot before police units arrived in the area.
Officers cordoned off the parking lot and interior business space, using mobile dispatch units to search surrounding strip malls, bus turnouts, and nearby residential streets.
Crime scene analysts processed the interior for bullet casings, latent prints, and DNA evidence, while detectives secured closed-circuit surveillance footage from adjacent retail tenants along the commercial corridor.
