HENDERSON, NV — The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents voted unanimously on Friday, May 1, 2026, to appoint Dr. Sandra B. Richtermeyer as the next president of Nevada State University (Nevada State). The decision concludes a rigorous national search designed to find a leader capable of steering the university through its next phase of academic and regional growth.
An Experienced Leader in Higher Education
Dr. Richtermeyer arrives in Southern Nevada with over three decades of experience in both faculty and administrative roles.

Current Role: She currently serves as the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost at Rutgers University–Camden.

Academic Background: A former Dean of the Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Richtermeyer also holds a faculty appointment as a full professor of accounting and is a former CPA.
