LAS VEGAS, NV — A 27-year-old Las Vegas woman faces felony driving under the influence charges after a horrific vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision late Thursday night left a man dead in the Spring Valley area.

The Decatur Boulevard Impact

According to an official media release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the fatal crash occurred just after 9:30 PM on Thursday, May 28, 2026, near the busy intersection of South Decatur Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road.

Evidence collected at the scene, supported by initial witness statements and area traffic surveillance video, indicates that a 2013 Toyota RAV4 was traveling along the transit corridor when it struck a 35-year-old male pedestrian. Investigators noted that the pedestrian was attempting to navigate across the roadway outside of a marked or implied crosswalk when the impact occurred.

Fatal Toll and Impairment Arrest

The front-left section of the Toyota RAV4 struck the pedestrian at speed, projecting him forward onto the asphalt where he was subsequently run over by the vehicle. Responding emergency medical technicians and fire crews performed rapid evaluations, but the victim had sustained catastrophic blunt-force injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The operator of the Toyota RAV4, identified by police as 27-year-old Victoria Truong, remained at the scene following the collision. While interacting with traffic officers, Truong displayed immediate, visible signs of substance impairment.

Following a series of field sobriety evaluations, patrol units took Truong into custody. She was transported and processed into the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC), where she is currently being held on suspicion of DUI Resulting in Death and Reckless Driving. The identity of the deceased man is being withheld pending formal verification and family notification by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
