LAS VEGAS, NV — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are actively hunting for two male suspects following a brazen, daylight shooting inside a northeast valley residential complex that left a 27-year-old man dead.

The mid-afternoon targeted assault prompted a heavy tactical police and emergency response, temporarily locking down parts of the surrounding residential neighborhood.

The East Craig Road Vehicle Ambush

The fatal incident unsealed at approximately 4:18 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, within the parking infrastructure of the Eagle Trace Apartments, located in the 5300 block of East Craig Road near Las Vegas Boulevard North.

According to active incident dispatches from the scene, uniform patrol officers arrived to find an adult male sitting inside a vehicle chassis suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Officers immediately initiated emergency first aid and requested immediate medical backup. Despite localized life-saving measures performed by arriving paramedics, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Suspects Flee into Surrounding Corridor

The LVMPD Homicide Section assumed full control of the active crime scene. Preliminary tracking by investigators indicates the victim was seated in his vehicle conversing with an acquaintance when two armed males abruptly walked up to the driver’s side panel.

The individuals unsealed firearms, letting loose a rapid succession of rounds directly into the cabin before fleeing the apartment complex framework on foot. Homicide division leads have not released specific suspect descriptions or verified identities as forensic teams work to pull local property surveillance loops. The official identity of the 27-year-old decedent is currently withheld pending formal processing by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
