16-Year-Old Arraigned as Second Suspect in East Las Vegas Homicide

LAS VEGAS, NV — Prosecutors at the Regional Justice Center formally filed murder charges against a 16-year-old girl on Friday in connection with a fatal shooting near an East Las Vegas park.

The arraignment marks the second arrest made by Metropolitan Police homicide detectives in the case.

Investigating the Hollywood Regional Park Homicide

According to court records and Metro Police reports, officers responded to a residential street adjacent to Hollywood Regional Park after dispatchers received reports of an unresponsive male on the ground. Arriving medical units pronounced the victim deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds.

Subsequent investigation led detectives to identify two co-defendants: 19-year-old Jayden Torres and 16-year-old Kassandra Orozco. Torres was taken into custody earlier in the week, while Orozco was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Thursday.

Formal Charges Filed in District Court

During court proceedings on Friday morning, District Court judges confirmed that Orozco is charged as an adult alongside Torres on counts including open murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit murder.

Both defendants remain held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center pending upcoming preliminary hearings.
