EXCLUSIVE: CHINA FIRST, NEVADA LAST: New NRCC Ads Hammer Titus, Lee Over Beijing Records

The National Republican Congressional Committee is launching a paid digital advertising campaign targeting Nevada Democrat Reps. Dina Titus and Susie Lee for opposing tariffs on China-linked products and repeatedly voting against measures intended to confront Beijing’s economic and national security threats.

The campaign, obtained exclusively by The Nevada Globe, arrives as the 2026 election enters its final 100 days and Republicans sharpen their economic argument against two Nevada Democrats representing districts President Donald Trump carried in 2024.

The ads accuse Titus and Lee of putting Communist China ahead of American workers by opposing tariffs designed to punish Beijing’s unfair trade practices, protect domestic manufacturers and stop Chinese companies from laundering products through third countries to escape American duties.

The cleanest example came in April 2023, when both Titus and Lee voted against reinstating tariffs on solar panels assembled in Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam using components manufactured in China. The resolution passed the House 221 to 202, with Nevada Republican Rep. Mark Amodei voting to restore the tariffs while Titus and Lee sided with Beijing’s supply chain.

American manufacturers were forced to compete against products tied to a Communist regime notorious for government subsidies, market manipulation, intellectual property theft and forced labor. Titus and Lee were given a choice between leveling the playing field for American workers and protecting the flow of China-linked imports. Both voted “no.”

For Titus, the vote belongs to a much longer and increasingly disturbing record.

In 2019, Titus disclosed accepting food and lodging paid for by the Government of China during a congressional trip to Beijing. While there, she met with Wang Chen, a senior Chinese Communist Party official who was later sanctioned by the United States for undermining Hong Kong’s autonomy.

Titus also met with Chinese officials as Beijing defended its brutal campaign against Uyghurs in Xinjiang by describing detention camps as “vocational education” centers and preventative anti-terrorism programs. The regime supplied the meals, provided the lodging and delivered the propaganda. Titus supplied the congressional credibility.

The arrangement was disclosed, not hidden. That does not make the judgment any less appalling. Titus allowed an adversarial communist government to pick up her tab while its officials whitewashed repression in Hong Kong and mass detention in Xinjiang.

A separate financial disclosure showed Titus held a matured certificate of deposit at the Bank of China’s New York branch valued at as much as $100,000. The bank was also the subject of a $1 billion civil lawsuit filed by five families of terror victims who alleged it processed money used by Hamas. The families dropped the case in 2015 after they were unable to secure government witnesses, leaving the allegations unadjudicated.

Titus later voted for the roughly $350 billion America COMPETES Act, legislation sold as an answer to China but stuffed with unrelated left-wing spending, including $8 billion to help developing countries convert to clean energy. Washington Democrats responded to Beijing’s military and industrial ambitions with another climate slush fund. Xi Jinping must have been trembling.

Her voting record became even more indefensible from there. Titus opposed the DETERRENT Act, which lowered the reporting threshold for foreign gifts to American colleges from $250,000 to $50,000 and established a zero-dollar threshold for gifts from countries of concern such as China. Thirty-one House Democrats broke ranks and supported the bill. Titus still voted no.

She also voted against restricting Department of Homeland Security funding to universities hosting Chinese-funded Confucius Institutes and opposed an amendment barring taxpayer funds from being used for joint American military exercises with China. When another amendment sought to block funding for the U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Center, Titus did not vote at all.

Lee’s record carries its own Beijing-red flags.

In October 2021, Lee spoke at a Las Vegas hospitality, tourism and cultural exchange forum featuring Qin Gang, then China’s ambassador to the United States and a trusted ally of Chinese President Xi Jinping. Qin delivered the event’s keynote remarks while Lee participated as one of the featured members of Congress.

Two years later, Lee voted against reinstating the China-linked solar tariffs. Then, in July 2025, she voted against the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, a package that invested in hypersonic weapons, critical minerals, artificial intelligence, microelectronics, 5G technology, cyber capabilities and nuclear modernization as the Pentagon shifted its attention toward countering China and other emerging threats.

Any one vote can be buried beneath procedural excuses and thousand-page legislation. Taken together, the pattern is impossible to miss. China-linked solar products received protection. American tariffs received opposition. Foreign money flowing into colleges received less scrutiny from Titus. A defense package aimed partly at countering China received a no vote from Lee.

The political danger is especially severe in Nevada, where Trump became the first Republican presidential candidate to carry the state since 2004. Working-class voters in Clark County helped drive that realignment after years of watching Washington elites protect foreign supply chains while American factories closed, wages stagnated and communities absorbed the consequences.

Nevada workers do not have lobbyists in Beijing, communist officials paying for their lodging or invitation-only forums featuring Xi Jinping’s diplomatic inner circle. They have paychecks, families and an increasingly clear understanding of which politicians fight for them when the votes are counted.

“Radical Democrats Dina Titus and Susie Lee had a simple choice: stand with American workers or side with Communist China. They chose China. Voters won’t forget who stood with American workers and who stood with Beijing,” NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez told The Globe.

Titus and Lee may spend the final 100 days wrapping themselves in election-year rhetoric about American jobs. Their records were made in Washington, Beijing and the halls of Congress, where both repeatedly found reasons to oppose accountability for China.

The ads make the Republican verdict brutally simple: when American workers and Communist China arrived at the same table, Titus and Lee saved Beijing a seat.
