LAS VEGAS, NV — Meteorologists warned Friday that July 2026 is on track to become the warmest month on record across the contiguous United States as an unprecedented high-pressure heat dome settles firmly over Southern Nevada and the Southwest.

National weather data reveals that a wide band of high pressure anchored over Arizona, California, and Nevada is driving temperatures to extreme levels:

Valley Floor Highs: Afternoon temperatures across the Las Vegas Valley will hold between 110°F and 115°F through the weekend.
Death Valley Peak: Portions of nearby Death Valley National Park are forecast to reach a staggering 127°F.
Elevated Nighttime Lows: Nighttime temperatures in Las Vegas are only expected to drop into the lower 90s, denying urban structures the ability to shed heat.
