LVMPD Investigates Shooting After Good Samaritan Intervenes in Robbery

LAS VEGAS, NV — Detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) are investigating a Friday morning shooting after a bystander was shot while attempting to intervene in a robbery.
Good Samaritan Shot During Attempted Intervention
According to Metro Police press logs released Friday morning, officers responded at 10:55 AM on July 31 following emergency reports of a shooting.
Initial investigation indicates an adult male victim observed an active robbery taking place and attempted to intervene to stop the suspect. The suspect produced a firearm and fired at the bystander, striking him before fleeing the scene.

Ongoing Search for Suspect
Arriving medical personnel transported the victim to a local trauma facility for emergency treatment. Violent Crimes detectives remain on scene gathering surveillance footage and witness statements to identify and locate the fleeing suspect.
