North Las Vegas Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision Involving Semitruck at Lone Mountain and Lamb

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV — The North Las Vegas Police Department (NLVPD) is investigating a fatal roadway collision after a commercial semitruck struck and killed a 32-year-old male pedestrian on Thursday morning.
Patrol officers and medical personnel were dispatched at approximately 9:30 AM to the intersection of East Lone Mountain Road and North Lamb Boulevard following emergency calls reporting an auto-pedestrian collision.

Turning Semitruck Collides With Crossing Pedestrian
According to preliminary findings released by the North Las Vegas Police Department, the commercial semitruck was traveling along East Lone Mountain Road and executing a turn onto North Lamb Boulevard.
At the same moment, a 32-year-old male was crossing the roadway within the corridor. Investigators believe the truck driver failed to see the pedestrian in the roadway during the turn and struck him with the tractor-trailer.
Emergency medical responders and police officers arrived within minutes, but the pedestrian suffered catastrophic blunt-force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver Cooperates as Reconstruction Team Sweeps Intersection
The driver of the semitruck remained on scene immediately following the impact and cooperated fully with responding officers and traffic investigators.
Police confirmed that impairment from drugs or alcohol is not suspected as a contributing factor on the part of the commercial driver.
NLVPD crash reconstruction specialists shut down traffic lanes around East Lone Mountain Road and North Lamb Boulevard for several hours to map sightlines, measure brake marks, and collect commercial electronic log data.
