Armed Stickup Triggers ALPR Network Alert

According to preliminary releases from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, dispatchers received emergency calls shortly after 11:00 AM reporting an armed robbery in progress in the 1600 block of South Hollywood Boulevard.

The caller reported that two suspects confronted the victim with a firearm before fleeing the area in a passenger vehicle.

Metro dispatchers broadcast the vehicle description across regional channels.

Within minutes, automated license plate reader (ALPR) surveillance cameras operating along arterial roadways flagged the vehicle’s position, allowing field supervisors to stage intercepting patrol vehicles.

Freeway Collision and Foot Takedown

Patrol officers caught up with the vehicle and attempted a felony traffic stop. The driver refused to pull over, accelerating away onto freeway ramps and leading officers on an active pursuit.

The chase concluded on Interstate 11 near the Tropicana Avenue interchange, where the driver lost control and crashed the vehicle into roadway barriers.

Immediately following the collision, both suspects exited the disabled vehicle and fled on foot across travel lanes. Pursuing officers quickly established a foot perimeter and took both individuals into custody.
