LAS VEGAS, NV — A 44-year-old Las Vegas man was killed Monday night after being struck by a vehicle in an apparent hit-and-run collision along North Nellis Boulevard in the east valley, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed.

The incident—which occurred just south of Stewart Avenue—marks the 85th traffic-related fatality investigated within Metro’s jurisdiction in 2026.

Detectives with the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section are actively searching for the driver of a 2022–2026 Genesis GV60 that fled the scene immediately following the impact.

Collision and Vehicle Trajectory Details

According to evidence documented at the scene, the crash occurred at approximately 8:47 p.m. on Monday, September 14.

Investigators determined that the 44-year-old pedestrian was attempting to cross North Nellis Boulevard heading westbound, outside of a marked or implied crosswalk.

At the same time, a 2022–2026 Genesis GV60 was traveling southbound on Nellis Boulevard approaching the Stewart Avenue corridor.

The vehicle struck the pedestrian with its right front end.

Rather than stopping to assess the victim or render aid, the driver fled the scene, continuing southbound along Nellis Boulevard.

Emergency medical responders arrived shortly after the collision, but the victim succumbed to blunt-force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County Coroner’s Office is withholding his identity pending official notification of next of kin.

Ongoing Investigation and Search for the Fleeing Vehicle

Collision detectives are reviewing commercial surveillance feeds along North Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue to pinpoint the license plate and exact color of the fleeing Genesis GV60.
