LAS VEGAS, NV — A morning shooting inside an east valley residence left two people dead and a third hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Wednesday, triggering a major homicide investigation near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas corridor.

Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, to an apartment residence in the 1600 block of East Rochelle Avenue, situated just east of Maryland Parkway and the UNLV perimeter.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the identities of the deceased along with the official cause and manner of death once next-of-kin notifications are finalized.
