Henderson Man Pleaded Guilty to Fraudulently Obtaining More Than $500,000 in PPP and EIDL Programs

NEVADA – Brandon Casutt, 55, of Henderson, pleaded guilty Friday to illegally obtaining more than $500,000 in SBA loans. He used the money to buy a house with family and friends.

Casutt submitted 11 false PPP and EIDL loan applications between April and July 2020. Casutt allegedly tried to collect $5.7 million via company and charity names.

The government authorized a $350,000 PPP loan for Sky DeSign and a $150,000 EIDL for Skyler’s C.F. Foundation.

Each loan application said the firm and charity had “many employees, major payroll expenses, and substantial revenue;” yet, they had few or no employees, paid little or no wages, and had few or no revenues.

Casutt confessed to laundering relief money by drafting bogus salary checks from the depositing account. He wrote himself, family, and friends $8,330 checks from this account.

In the check’s memo line, Casutt allegedly scribbled “pandemic pay” or “back pay.”

After depositing the cheques, they sent the money to Skyler’s C.F. Foundation. He utilized the money to buy a $400,000 house in Henderson in 2020.
