LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – One of the Clark County School District Police Department’s most senior officers is hanging up his holster.
Captain Ken Young is leaving the department after 31 years of service.
Young joined the CCSD police department in 1991 and worked as the public information officer for several years.
During his retirement ceremony on Wednesday, he noted that making arrests is simple, but what important is making a good influence in a student’s life.
“To those that supported, I thank you. To those that didn’t support, you made me stronger. You made me work harder,” Young said.
Young has opted to retire while he is still having a good time.
During the event, the city of Las Vegas issued a proclamation declaring November 9 as Captain Ken Young Day.
