Burglars Caught on Camera in Summerlin Scare Neighbors
LAS VEGAS – Bostin Shin had never anticipated having to deal with a burglary in his peaceful Summerlin community.
But his family’s sense of safety was broken on Wednesday night.
“I was at work, and my wife was on her way home from hers. Shin remarked, “It just so happened that I was going to have to deal with some dudes in my living room.” “She was just worried that the two men were going to be in my house, and that’s all.”
The intruders were caught on camera at 6:09 p.m. by Shin’s Nest surveillance system. Shin claims that his wife would have run into them if she had arrived home from work just 10 to 15 minutes sooner.
His wife and daughters no longer feel safe returning to the home they’ve shared with him for the past 15 years. It didn’t take long for the police to arrive at Shin’s house when he phoned them, according to him.
Due to what has transpired, she will not be returning to the house. Still, she weeps. Please excuse me,” Shin said emotionally.
Shin claims that intruders entered his home through a side window and made off with several items, including several packs of cigarettes, two of his watches, a basketball jersey featuring the Los Angeles Lakers’ logo, a jacket bearing sports team lettering, and Shin’s hat.
Shin was still tallying potential missing goods on Friday when 8 NEWS Now arrived.
Adam Graham, his next-door neighbor, shared his worries.
As Graham explained, “now that I am a father on New Year’s Day, safety is so much more crucial.”
Numerous varieties of surveillance cameras are available. Since Ring and Nest cameras are more affordable, they are two of the most widely used brands.
Nonetheless, Las Vegas Tech Solutions’s sales manager Farzad Rudd warned that the use of such cameras is not without its drawbacks. Wi-Fi enabled, and most data stored in the cloud, they only start recording when they detect motion.
Rudd suggested that the cameras be physically connected to the monitoring system. “You might want to tuck away your multi-video recorder, digital video recorder, or recorder box in a spot where people won’t be looking for it.”
As an additional precaution against the scorching temperatures in Sin City, Rudd suggests replacing your current plastic camera with a metal dome one.
You can expect to pay $75 to $100 for a metal, hardwired surveillance camera that will last for up to five years.
