The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Has Awarded Funding to Take Part in Programs Called Joining Forces 2023

RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – The Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Public Safety, has awarded the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office a grant of $121,000 to assist law enforcement’s involvement in the Joining Forces traffic safety initiatives in the next year.
Joining Forces is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement initiative that aims to reduce injuries and crashes by enforcing DUI, speed, distracted driving, seat belt, and pedestrian safety laws statewide.
These enforcement initiatives aim to save lives by raising public awareness about the hazards of making bad driving decisions.
Joining Forces campaigns will include:
- Impaired Drivers/Riders
- “Click it or Ticket”
- Excessive Speed
- Distracted Drivers
- Pedestrian Safety
The WCSO will collaborate with other region jurisdictions for various Joining Forces activities from October 10, 2022 to September 21, 2023, thanks to this funding allocation.
