RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – According to a TSA employee, despite the recent confusion, travelers at Reno-Tahoe International Airport have been fairly accommodating thus far.
Almost 3,000 flights have been canceled as Southwest Airlines attempts to reevaluate its commitment to customers.
Southwest Airlines canceled the great majority of flights in the previous three days, according to Flight Aware.
As the country continues to be plagued by inclement weather, Southwest has cancelled 51 flights in the last 24 hours. Southwest customers, who have been detained at airports for several days, have it much worse.
Despite having her family’s trip canceled three times since Christmas, Kelsey Ballard of Kansas City, Missouri, said they are trying to be positive.
Travelers are complaining on social media about long queues to talk with staff, issues with missing baggage, and high wait times or busy signals on the airline’s customer care phone lines.
“Those whose flights have been canceled may obtain a full refund or receive a flight credit that does not expire,” the airline added.
Officials advise anybody travelling to verify their flight status before leaving for the airport.
