Reno and Nearby Communities Are Under Flood Watch

RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – For the Reno region and the nearby cities, the National Weather Service in Reno has issued a flood watch.

The impact will begin on Friday morning and continue through Saturday night. The locations listed below will also be under flood watch:

Northeast California, including the Susanville area
Lake Tahoe
The Sierra Nevadas, including the Truckee area
Western Nevada, including all of Washoe County all the way down to Carson City

Furthermore, the NWS Reno warns that excessive runoff from heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying and flood-prone regions such as main stem rivers, creeks, and streams.

Additionally probable are road restrictions because to anticipated floods. The east branch of the Carson River and Susan River are also predicted to see river flooding, according to NWS Reno.

The Greater Lake Tahoe Area, Mono County, and northeastern California have all been placed under a winter storm watch that will last from Thursday night until Sunday morning.

Above 6,000–7,000 feet, there is a good chance of getting substantial high-elevation snowfall. Travel conditions will be hazardous.
