LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – The organization behind the largest mobile food pantry in Southern Nevada will launch a “first-of-its-kind” community market at a middle school in Las Vegas.
The market will be opened at Garside Junior High School by the Just One Project, which provides foodstuffs to more than 20,000 people who are food insecure each month.
According to the group, the “Community Market at Garside” is the first market from the Just One Project to open within a CCSD school, and it is the size of a classroom.
The by-appointment, free community market will provide services and assistance to the Garside children and their families when it is open from Monday through Friday during school hours.
The market will provide Garside families with fresh groceries, recipes, nutritional guidance, home goods, school supplies, and more. It will be staffed by case managers from the Just One Project.
In accordance with the press release, families that go to the market can also take use of Community Connect’s wraparound services, which include help preventing homelessness and other supporting programs.
