LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – A grisly murder that allegedly occurred in October is described in a newly released police report, and the suspect faces life in prison if convicted.

The charges against 43-year-old Ryan Bentley are murder and conspiracy to commit murder. His next court appearance is set for January 26. The state has since dropped the murder charge against the second suspect, Angelica Hudson.

Reports from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department say that around 1:18 p.m. on Nov. 29, officers were called to Palm Street and E. Quail Avenue after human remains were found in a barrel there. The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 39-year-old Rene Olmos Enriquez Jr., who was reported missing on Nov. 3.

The following is stated in the most recent report:
Witnesses and text messages revealed to police that Bentley believed Enriquez had “snitched” with authorities regarding narcotics. On October 20, police conducted a search of Enriquez’s house, locating hundreds of grams of meth, heroin, and fentanyl.

While Enriquez was being treated at a hospital for being under the influence of drugs, he was not arrested. According to the report, Bentley thought Enriquez was a snitch because he wasn’t arrested.

Enriquez was lured to Bentley’s own residence after the man was told that he had a “care package” for him. According to the report, he told Enriquez there that he could either kill himself or snort enough fentanyl to kill himself.

Enriquez chose the latter option and administered several fentanyl injections before falling unconscious. Bentley observed Enriquez waking up as the man attempted to flee and ran into the garage.

Enriquez attempted to open the garage door, but zipties had secured it. After Bentley killed Enriquez, he fled the house to a friend’s house to change clothes. Bentley was found in the area when police were called to investigate reports of gunshots, but there was no evidence that he was the one who fired the shots at the time.

Bentley was taken into custody for drug possession, but he was later let go. Police were able to retrieve text messages from his Facebook page as more evidence came to light. Some of the messages described how Bentley dismembered Enriquez’s body after he got home from jail, doused it in lye, and put the remains in a 55-gallon barrel before having friends help load it into a car.

“I require some assistance. One message from Bentley read, “I either need new saw blades or a cash app so I can ride my bike to buy some.”

“Bro the things me and her had to do compared to videos from the cartel,” and “This fool got raided, wasn’t arrested, and is missing.” My pad was his final destination. However, I am unaware of anything.

After Enriquez was reported missing, a witness told police that Bentley’s house smelled strongly of bleach.

A contractor for Clark County Public Works called police on Nov. 29 regarding an abandoned barrel near East Quail Avenue and Palm Street.

A worker noticed a bleach bottle inside the barrel and recognized the stench of decaying flesh when he removed the lid to check for hazardous materials. Additionally, the barrel was discovered in an area where Bentley had a friend text him to “check on something right around the corner.”

A human torso with no arms or head was in the barrel. Enriquez’s photos were aligned with a visible tattoo.

According to court records, a grand jury indicted Bentley on January 6. On January 26, he will have an arraignment hearing.
