Multiple Road Closures and Resort Shutdowns as Blizzard Warning Continues in Western Slopes of Sierra

NEVADA – A severe weather condition in the western slopes of the Sierra, with a blizzard warning in place, along with a winter storm warning for Lake Tahoe, Reno, and surrounding valleys.
The warning is effective until 4 am on Wednesday.
The area is expected to receive new snowfall, with valleys expected to see 1 to 6 inches of snow, while the mountains could receive 2-3 feet of snow.
I-80 over Donner Pass and Mt. Rose Highway from Sunridge to Douglas Fir Drive remains closed.
The forecast predicts snow showers on Tuesday morning and evening, leading to a slick commute on Wednesday morning.
The storm is expected to clear by Wednesday afternoon, with favorable weather on Thursday and Friday.
However, windy conditions are expected on Sunday, with another chance of snow showers on Sunday and Monday.
Palisades Tahoe, Alpine Meadows, and Kirkwood Mountain Resort are closed at present.
