Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Responds to Reports of Student With Gun at Silver Stage Middle School, Threat Deemed False

Silver Springs, Nevada – Three schools in Silver Springs went into lockdown on Wednesday as a precautionary measure after the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a student carrying a gun on the Silver Stage Middle School campus.
According to LCSO, they were alerted about the situation at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Deputies quickly responded to the school and located the student in question. The student was cooperative with the authorities, and no gun was found in their possession. After an investigation, it was determined that the threat to the school was false.
The deputies conducted a thorough search of the school, and they assured the public that there is no longer any danger to the students, staff, or the community. The schools were reopened shortly after the sweep was completed.
The incident has caused concern among parents and the community. LCSO is reminding everyone to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately. The safety of students and staff remains a top priority for the authorities, and they will continue to investigate any potential threats.
