NEVADA – Reno Firefighters and the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) collaborated to rescue a bear stuck in a tree in the South Meadows area on April 26. The Reno Fire Department’s assistance in the animal rescue mission was appreciated by the NDOW.
The successful bear rescue operation took place a week after NDOW advised the residents to take measures to bear-proof their homes as it is the time of year when bears wander around searching for food in garbage cans and residential areas.
As the spring season arrives, bears are commonly seen in neighborhoods, and it’s important to take precautions to ensure their safety and avoid any potential dangers. The Reno Fire Department’s timely action in assisting NDOW’s mission is commendable and highlights the need for community cooperation in wildlife protection.
