Two hikers rescued from White Rock Trail area in Arizona

LAS VEGAS – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office and other rescue teams rescued two lost hikers from the White Rock Trail area on April 30. According to the MCSO, the Lake Mead National Park Service notified them about the lost hikers who were out of consciousness and needed help to locate them.

Search and Rescue along with medics from Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire and the Western Air Rescue DPS helicopter from Kingman were dispatched to the trailhead. The National Park Service rangers and Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire medics located the hikers on the trailhead at different locations and coordinated with Search and Rescue to get the helicopter to them.

The mother and daughter, aged 54 and 26 respectively, were hiking together when the mother became dehydrated and fell. The daughter went towards the trailhead for help but became exhausted as well. They were evaluated by medics with Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire after being taken to the command post by helicopter.

It is unclear what their current conditions are.

The trails will be closed from May 15 through Sep. 30.
