LAS VEGAS – The swimming pools at the renowned Planet Hollywood resort on the Las Vegas Strip have been closed by the health department following a series of compliance issues. The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) conducted an inspection on June 12, prompted by water chemistry violations associated with the north pool.
According to the health department, both the north pool and the south pool were found to have inadequate supervision from lifeguards, a lack of managerial control over lifeguard operations, and improper rotation of lifeguard shifts. Additionally, a compliance issue arose concerning the alteration of drain covers. The health department has stated that the resort pools can reopen once compliance with safety regulations is achieved.
Planet Hollywood has taken steps to accommodate its guests by providing pool options at the nearby Paris Las Vegas and Horseshoe Las Vegas resorts until the pools at Planet Hollywood can be reopened. The resort has also displayed a notice of temporary closure on its website under the pool tab, informing visitors of the situation.
The health department’s intervention highlights the significance of adhering to strict safety protocols to ensure the well-being of swimmers and guests at hospitality establishments. As Planet Hollywood works to rectify compliance issues, guests can explore alternative pool experiences nearby while enjoying their stay in Las Vegas.
