A Man Has Been Taken Into Custody After Allegedly Throwing Molotov Cocktails at a Church in Reno

NEVADA – A man has been arrested in Reno after allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails at a local church, resulting in a structure fire. The incident occurred at the Living Stones Church located at 445 South Virginia Street. Police have identified the suspect as 29-year-old Mason Thoyre, who has since been charged with first-degree arson.
The incident took place on Monday, July 17, around 11:00 p.m. Reno firefighters quickly responded to the scene and were able to contain the fire to the interior wall and flooring of the church. Thankfully, the fire did not spread further, and there were no reported injuries.
The motive behind the attack is still under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Reno Police Department is urging anyone with additional information to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
