LAS VEGAS – Across the valley, extensive cleanup operations are now underway following the devastating impact of severe flooding, which has left a trail of destruction in its wake. Notably, one of the consequences of this flooding is the sudden appearance of a sinkhole at the intersection of S. Jones Blvd and W. Rochelle Ave.
Las Vegas Fire Rescue provided a distressing account of the storm’s effects, indicating that as many as 30 to 45 vehicles became stranded in rapidly rising floodwaters. Additionally, a heroic effort saw 10 to 12 individuals successfully rescued from the perilous standing or moving water.
As the valley gradually dries out, city authorities are intensifying their cleanup endeavors. They are calling upon residents residing in areas affected by debris or damage to report such incidents promptly to expedite the recovery process. Citizens can make these reports conveniently through the FixIt Clark County app or by visiting the official Clark County website.
Recognizing the magnitude of the flooding that swept through the valley, city officials are preparing residents for an extended cleanup operation that is anticipated to span several days. The collaborative effort to restore the area to normalcy is now in full swing.
