Nevada to Receive $553 Million from Biden Administration for Infrastructure Projects

Nevada is set to receive $553 million from the Biden Administration for infrastructure projects in fiscal year 2024. The funding will be used to construct and repair roads, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure, as well as to reduce carbon emissions, improve safety, and develop the workforce.

The funding will be allocated as follows:

$262 million for the National Highway Performance Program, a program providing funding for road construction and maintenance projects
$128 million for a surface transportation block grant
$28 million for highway safety
$1.2 million for railway crossings
$36 million for congestion mitigation and air quality
$4.5 million for metropolitan planning
$13 million for highway freight
$11 million for a carbon reduction program
$12.9 million for the PROTECT Formula Program
$8 million for electric vehicle infrastructure
$45 million for bridges

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said that the funding will help to “modernize roads and bridges across America–strengthening our supply chains, creating good-paying jobs, and connecting Americans to every corner of this country.”

The funding is part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which was signed into law by President Biden in November 2021. The law provides $1.2 trillion in funding for infrastructure projects across the country.

The funding is expected to create jobs and boost the economy in Nevada. It will also help to improve the state’s transportation system and make it safer and more efficient for people to travel around.
