Elderly Victim Fatally Shot in Home Robbery, Henderson Police Investigating

LAS VEGAS – The Henderson Police Department is currently investigating a tragic incident involving a home robbery that resulted in the death of an elderly victim. According to a preliminary report, officers received a distress call around 10:10 p.m. on October 19 from a victim who reported being shot along with her boyfriend. Upon arriving at a residence near Via Visione, police discovered the lifeless body of a 77-year-old man, seemingly killed by a gunshot wound.

The female victim, aged 70, had sustained a gunshot wound to an upper extremity. She was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and is expected to survive, as confirmed by the authorities.

Preliminary findings from the investigation conducted by Henderson detectives indicate that the motive behind this tragic incident was a robbery. As the investigation remains ongoing, no further details are available at this time.

The identity of the deceased individual will be disclosed by the Clark County Coroner’s Office once the next of kin has been notified. This incident marks the ninth homicide in the City of Henderson for the year 2023.
