UNLV: Third Victim Identified in Campus Shooting

LAS VEGAS – In the aftermath of Wednesday’s devastating shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), the Clark County Coroner’s office has identified the third victim as Naoko Takemaru, a 69-year-old associate professor of Japanese Studies at the university.
Previously, the coroner’s office released the identities of two other victims, 64-year-old professor Cha Jan Chang, affectionately known as “Jerry,” and 39-year-old associate professor Patricia Navarro Velez.
All three victims succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, and authorities have classified their deaths as homicides. The UNLV community mourns the loss of these esteemed educators, and investigations into the tragic incident are ongoing.
