Walz, a two-term governor with a military and teaching background, has been advocating for Harris and pushing progressive policies. His addition aims to strengthen Harris’s support in crucial Midwestern states.
Harris and Walz will kick off a seven-state battleground tour this week, starting in Philadelphia. Harris secured the Democratic nomination after President Biden’s unexpected exit from the race.
The race has seen numerous twists, including an assassination attempt on Trump and Biden’s withdrawal, setting the stage for a heated contest.
