Las Vegas, NV – A tragic week on Las Vegas roads has claimed the lives of nine people. From Wednesday to Sunday, a series of fatal crashes occurred, highlighting the dangers of reckless driving and impaired driving.

Among the victims were two teenagers killed in a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen vehicle. Other incidents involved pedestrians struck by vehicles, including a 92-year-old man and a woman picking up belongings in the road.

The surge in traffic fatalities has prompted concerns about road safety in the Las Vegas Valley. Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill has advocated for the implementation of red-light and speed cameras to deter reckless driving.

The Nevada Department of Public Safety reported that 2024 has already seen a 2.5% increase in traffic-related fatalities compared to the previous year. October 2024 was particularly deadly, with 42 fatal crashes.

As authorities continue to investigate these tragic incidents, they urge drivers to prioritize safety on the roads.
