Part 7: Nevada’s Voter ID Revolution. What Question 7 Could Mean for Ending Impersonation and Boosting Trust

After ditching machines for paper as we discussed, the next logical step is verifying who’s actually voting. Enter Nevada’s Voter ID initiative, like Question 7 on the 2024 ballot, which aimed to amend our constitution for photo ID at polls and ID numbers on mail-ins. Though it faced hurdles, let’s explore its impact through stories that resonate with us conservatives, linking to Solomon’s rigged ratios.

Imagine a poll worker in Reno spotting someone voting under your neighbor’s name, no ID, no proof. It happened in isolated 2020 cases, per state investigations. Question 7 would’ve required valid photo ID, like a driver’s license, for in-person voting, and last-four SSN digits for mail. Backers collected over 100,000 signatures, but a 2025 bill was vetoed by Gov. Lombardo amid compromise talks. Still, the Supreme Court greenlit similar efforts in May 2024.

Impact? Huge. States with strict ID, like Georgia, saw fraud complaints drop 80% post-implementation, per Heritage Foundation data. In Nevada, where non-citizen registration glitches hit 6,000 in 2018 audits, ID could prevent that, ensuring only citizens vote. Polls show 75% of Nevadans support it, boosting turnout among conservatives who feel secure.

But Solomon’s see-saws show why ID is crucial: If machines or fraudsters flip STUV boxes, ID ties votes to real people. Example: Like labeling pizza slices with names, no more anonymous swaps. Problems persist without it; solutions include pairing ID with paper ballots and precinct counts.
