A 5-year-old boy is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in northwest Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon, according to Metro police.
The incident occurred just before 3:30 p.m. near Round Castle Street and Gold Find Court, close to North Tenaya Way and West Tropical Parkway. Investigators said evidence at the scene, along with witness accounts and surveillance footage, indicated that a Cadillac STS traveling north on Round Castle struck the child after he entered the roadway on his bicycle.
The impact threw the boy from the bicycle. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Police reported that the driver stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
