State Data Shows Road Fatalities Down 8.6% From Last Year

Nevada officials say more than 300 people have died in traffic crashes so far this year, according to the Department of Public Safety’s latest report.

As of October 31, 2025, state data shows 309 traffic-related fatalities across Nevada — an 8.6% decrease compared to the same period last year. Clark County accounted for 199 of those deaths, making up nearly two-thirds of the statewide total.

Pedestrians remain among the most vulnerable, with 78 fatalities reported, while 54 deaths involved drivers or passengers who were not wearing seat belts. State officials continue to identify impairment and speeding as the leading causes behind many of these crashes.

As the year nears its end and the holiday travel season approaches, authorities are urging motorists to stay alert, avoid impaired driving, and follow speed limits to help prevent further loss of life on Nevada’s roads.
