Titus Downplays Narco-Regime, Undercuts U.S. Enforcement, and Misleads Nevadans on Border Crisis

Rep. Dina Titus’ latest TV appearance showcased a troubling pattern: defending foreign bad actors while demonizing American law enforcement.

When asked about strikes on Venezuelan drug-trafficking vessels, Titus emphasized uncertainty about “who was on those boats,” suggesting the administration lacked proof,  despite years of DEA reports documenting Venezuelan state involvement in narcotrafficking under Nicolás Maduro.

Then, when the conversation turned to U.S. immigration enforcement, Titus didn’t miss a beat. She blasted ICE for “fear tactics,” “middle-of-the-night raids,” “chasing” citizens, and even “chasing babies [into] schools.” None of these claims were supported with evidence.

In the span of a few minutes, Titus:

  • cast doubt on documented narcotrafficking activity by a hostile regime,
  • undermined the legitimacy of U.S. military and ICE operations,
  • and painted federal officers as masked villains rather than law-enforcement professionals tasked with keeping Americans safe.

All while Nevada continues to suffer from rising cartel-linked fentanyl activity, border-driven crime, and human-smuggling networks operating throughout the region.

Most Nevadans, including Democrats, want stronger border security and tougher enforcement against drug traffickers. Yet Titus seems more concerned with giving Maduro the benefit of the doubt and attacking U.S. authorities than addressing the growing threats reaching her own state.

This latest interview isn’t an outlier,  it’s part of a long-running pattern of Titus prioritizing ideological narratives over national security. Nevada deserves leaders who take border threats seriously, not lawmakers who downplay them on national television.
