Trump Moves to Win the 6G Race and Lock Down America’s National Security

President Donald J. Trump is once again making it clear that America will not cede the future to China or any other foreign adversary. This week, President Trump signed a sweeping National Security Presidential Memorandum and unveiled a fact sheet detailing his administration’s aggressive strategy to ensure the United States wins the global race to develop and deploy 6G wireless technology.
Unlike Democrats, who spent years dithering while Beijing raced ahead, Trump is treating next-generation communications for what it is: a core national security issue.
The memorandum directs the federal government to prioritize American leadership in 6G, the successor to 5G that will power everything from autonomous vehicles and advanced manufacturing to military communications and emergency response systems. In short, whoever controls 6G controls the backbone of the modern economy and the battlefield of the future.
Trump’s directive puts America first by coordinating federal agencies, accelerating research and development, and ensuring our networks are built on secure, trusted technology rather than hardware tied to hostile foreign regimes. After watching China exploit 5G to expand its global influence, the Trump administration is drawing a hard line: America will not depend on Beijing for the technology that runs our economy or protects our troops.
The plan also emphasizes strengthening U.S. supply chains, particularly for semiconductors and advanced components, reducing reliance on overseas manufacturing. That matters for Nevada and the West, where technology, logistics, defense, and energy industries increasingly rely on fast, secure communications to operate efficiently and competitively.
Equally important, Trump’s approach rejects the radical regulatory overreach favored by Democrats. Instead of burying innovation under layers of bureaucracy, the administration is clearing the runway for private-sector leadership, American entrepreneurs, and world-class researchers to do what they do best: innovate, compete, and win.
For Nevadans, the stakes are real. Faster and more secure wireless networks mean stronger economic growth, better rural connectivity, improved emergency services, and a competitive edge for industries ranging from mining and manufacturing to transportation and defense. It also means American data stays American, not siphoned off by foreign governments with zero regard for privacy or security.
This is the sharpest possible contrast with the left’s approach. While Democrats obsess over climate mandates, woke social experiments, and endless regulations, Trump is focused on the fundamentals: national security, economic strength, and American leadership on the world stage.
Winning the 6G race isn’t about bragging rights. It’s about ensuring the next generation of technology is built by America, for America, under American values. Once again, President Trump is proving that strong leadership matters, especially when the future is on the line.
