An early morning fire involving a semi-truck caused traffic delays along Interstate 15 near Primm on Tuesday, according to the Nevada State Police.
Troopers responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the southbound lanes near mile marker 5 shortly after 4:30 a.m. Investigators said the truck’s driver noticed issues with the braking system before seeing smoke and flames coming from the rear of the trailer.
The driver pulled onto the shoulder and attempted to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher but was unsuccessful. Authorities said the driver then disconnected the trailer and moved the truck away as the trailer became fully engulfed in flames.
Fire crews responded to the scene and confirmed that no injuries were reported. The incident led to temporary traffic disruptions while emergency crews worked to contain the fire and clear the roadway.
All southbound lanes of I-15 were reopened by approximately 9:50 a.m., police said.
