LAS VEGAS — Early Tuesday morning, a Nevada State Police trooper was injured in a suspected DUI crash in central Las Vegas, prompting a highway investigation and traffic impacts for drivers on Valley View Boulevard near I-11. Authorities say the incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. when the trooper responded to a collision involving a red Nissan sedan and a Nevada Highway Patrol vehicle.

The trooper was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police reported. The driver of the sedan, showing signs of impairment, was also hospitalized before being booked on DUI charges once medically cleared.

Traffic damage included a visibly struck patrol vehicle with front-end damage while crash investigators examined the scene. Officials are continuing to review the crash, and additional details, like impairment test results, are pending release.
