LAS VEGAS — A quiet residential street in the West Las Vegas Valley became a crime scene early Thursday morning after a domestic argument escalated into a fatal shooting. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to a home in the 9200 block of Desert Village Avenue, near Flamingo and Fort Apache roads, shortly after midnight. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was transported to UMC, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation revealed that the shooter was the father of the victim’s girlfriend. According to Lt. Robert Price, a verbal altercation between the two men turned physical before the father produced a firearm. The suspect was taken into custody without incident at the residence. While a juvenile was inside the home during the gunfire, police confirmed they were not involved or injured. Metro has labeled the shooting an isolated incident, though it serves as a sobering reminder of how quickly domestic tensions can spiral when personal responsibility is abandoned in favor of violence.
