The Nevada Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred early Wednesday morning on a freeway in the northwest Las Vegas Valley. Emergency responders were called to the southbound I-215 off-ramp at Ann Road at approximately 5:55 a.m. following reports of a collision involving a commercial semi-truck and a passenger sedan. According to officials from the Highway Patrol, the driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

As a result of the incident and the subsequent investigation, authorities closed the southbound I-215 off-ramp at Ann Road for several hours. The agency stated that the ramp would remain inaccessible for an undetermined period while investigators worked to determine the cause of the collision and clear the debris. Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes as traffic in the northwest valley experienced significant delays throughout the morning commute. No further information regarding the identity of the deceased or the condition of the truck driver has been released at this time.
