Flashing Yellow Arrow Collision Claims Life of 22-Year-Old Near Seven Hills

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified 22-year-old Lukas Lonthrigel of Las Vegas as the motorcyclist killed in a tragic collision Tuesday afternoon in the south valley. The incident, which occurred at the intersection of St. Rose Parkway and Jeffreys Street, marks the 34th traffic-related fatality within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2026.

According to investigators, the crash occurred just after 4:00 PM when a 2021 Hyundai Elantra, traveling southbound on Jeffreys, attempted a left turn onto eastbound St. Rose Parkway. Police report the intersection’s traffic signal was displaying a flashing yellow arrow at the time. The Hyundai turned directly into the path of Lonthrigel’s northbound 2012 Harley-Davidson, resulting in a violent impact that ejected the rider.

Lonthrigel was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, showing no immediate signs of impairment. This latest death underscores a persistent and deadly trend for Southern Nevada riders; while statewide traffic fatalities are reportedly down 24% this year, motorcycle-involved deaths in Clark County continue to pace ahead of 2025 figures.
