Suspect Arrested in Deadly East Las Vegas Car Shooting

LAS VEGAS, NV — Detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Homicide Section have announced a breakthrough in a fatal shooting that occurred last week in East Las Vegas. A 32-year-old suspect is now behind bars in connection with the death of a man found shot inside his vehicle.
The arrest follows an intensive investigation into the incident that took place in the early morning hours of Friday, March 27.
A Night of Music Turns Fatal
The incident unfolded at approximately 12:44 a.m. in the 2800 block of East Bonanza Road, located just east of Eastern Avenue.
According to LVMPD investigators:

The victim had gone out to his parked vehicle specifically to listen to music.

Shortly after, witnesses reported hearing a heated verbal argument between the victim and another male.

The confrontation escalated rapidly, ending in a volley of gunfire.

Arriving patrol officers discovered the victim inside the car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
The Investigation and Arrest
Through the course of their investigation, Homicide detectives identified David Medina-Luna, 32, as the primary suspect.
On March 27, 2026, Medina-Luna was apprehended and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. He currently faces one count of Open Murder with the Use of a Deadly Weapon.
