Trump Touts Success of ‘No Tax on Tips’ at Downtown Las Vegas Roundtable

LAS VEGAS, NV — Returning to the city he calls the “birthplace” of his signature economic policy, President Donald Trump held a roundtable discussion at the AC Hotel Downtown today to celebrate the impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Flanked by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and local hospitality workers, the President highlighted that over six million Americans have now claimed the “No Tax on Tips” deduction, with Nevada workers seeing an average tax return increase of over $7,100.

“Every single American at every income level has more money in their pockets this week because of these policies,” Trump told the crowd of service industry professionals and law enforcement officers.

Economic Tension: Taxes vs. The Tank

While the mood inside the AC Hotel was celebratory, the visit comes as Southern Nevadans face a steep rise in living costs. The ongoing conflict with Iran has pushed local gas prices to a painful $5.00 per gallon, a reality that Democrats and local protesters argue has effectively “eaten away” the tax savings touted by the administration.

The President addressed these concerns during the roundtable, describing the high energy costs as a “temporary disruption” from the war and promising that a push for increased domestic energy production would drive prices back down to the $3.00 range by summer.

Traffic Alert: Motorcade Movements

As the President prepares to depart the downtown area for his next stop in Phoenix, Arizona, motorists should expect significant disruptions:

  • Rolling Closures: Temporary halts are in effect on I-15 North and the US-95/I-515 interchange (Spaghetti Bowl).

  • Airport Access: Expect heavy delays in the Airport Connector Tunnel and on the 215 Beltway as the motorcade heads toward Harry Reid International Airport.

  • Alternative Routes: Commuters are advised to use Eastern Avenue or Rainbow Boulevard to avoid freeway gridlock through 2:30 PM.
