BLUE-COLLAR BETRAYAL: Nevada Dems Voted Against Tax Cuts Now Protecting 60,000 Jobs

One year after Republicans passed President Donald Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts, Nevada workers and manufacturers are still collecting the dividends. A new National Association of Manufacturers report estimates the law is protecting 60,000 jobs, preserving $5 billion in wages and safeguarding $10 billion in Nevada economic output.

The numbers are not theoretical projections floating around a Washington spreadsheet. The report spotlights Click Bond, a family-owned Carson City manufacturer with 425 employees whose advanced components are used in aviation, aerospace, marine, industrial and offshore energy operations, including missions in space.

Click Bond relies on highly skilled hourly employees to meet growing demand, and overtime at the company is entirely voluntary. The Working Families Tax Cuts’ No Tax on Overtime provision now gives those workers another reason to pick up a shift, earn time-and-a-half and keep more of the money they worked for.

Click Bond CEO Karl Hutter said he expects overtime opportunities to be in even greater demand because of the tax deduction and suggested the company may need to expand them. “It’s a welcome bonus for our hourly workers, allowing them to take home more of their hard-earned income and reach their financial goals faster,” Hutter said.

That is what a blue-collar tax cut looks like in the real world. More shifts, bigger paychecks, stronger factories and skilled Nevada workers keeping money that would otherwise disappear into Washington’s bottomless furnace.

Nevada Democrat Reps. Dina Titus, Susie Lee and Steven Horsford voted against every bit of it. When the House passed the legislation 218 to 214 on July 3, 2025, all three sided with Washington Democrats and voted “no,” while Republican Rep. Mark Amodei voted to deliver the tax relief.

Had Titus, Lee and Horsford gotten their way, there would be no No Tax on Overtime deduction for Click Bond workers. There would be no permanent tax certainty for Nevada manufacturers, and families would have been left staring down what the Trump administration called the largest tax increase in American history.

Now the trio faces a humiliating contrast that no amount of Democrat spin can sandblast away. Republicans gave Nevada manufacturers the confidence to invest, expand and hire, while Titus, Lee and Horsford tried to kill the law now protecting billions of dollars in wages and economic activity across the Silver State.

The political lesson should be painfully familiar. Donald Trump became the first Republican presidential candidate to carry Nevada since 2004 because working-class voters are tired of funding Washington’s ideological carnival while politicians treat their paychecks like public property.

Nevada’s realignment is not mysterious. Workers can tell the difference between politicians who praise labor in campaign commercials and leaders who actually let laborers keep more of what they earn.

“The Great American Comeback is underway in Nevada thanks to Republicans’ Working Families Tax Cuts, which delivered the largest middle-class tax cut, put more money in workers’ pockets, and saved American jobs,” RNC Spokesperson Nick Poche said. The results at Click Bond offer Nevada a hometown example of that comeback in motion.

NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez said the Nevada Democrats’ votes exposed exactly whose side they were on. “Democrats Dina Titus, Susie Lee, and Steven Horsford voted to kill jobs, kneecap economic growth, and slap Nevadans with higher taxes. Republicans delivered the certainty to invest, expand, and hire, while Titus, Lee, and Horsford tried to hand workers pink slips.”
