Editors note: Although the county estimated over 50,000 ballots that remain to be counted, the latest drop may reduce that number and we will have an update after tomorrow’s press conference. 

In his daily press conference, Clark County Registrar Joe Gloria provided the press with a handout which showed that 50,030 ballots remain to be counted and took questions from reporters for about 10 minutes.

Gloria told the press that Clark County expects to drop 15,900 ballots. Not included in these totals are 9,659 ballots that need to be cured and 5,555 provisional ballots. The other 34,130 mail ballots will be counted as they become ready. Of the 56,900 ballots collected from drop boxes, a small portion of those have been counted but a majority of those remain in the count.

Not all will be counted today, Gloria said. According to Gloria, the deadline to count all mail-in ballots is Tuesday, Nov. 15, which the county claims is on track to complete. The county expects another large report of vote totals to be posted Saturday. “We’re getting to the tail-end of what we need to do,” Gloria said.

However, Clark County published an update late today with over 27,000 ballots tabulated and reported. Laxalt’s lead has been reduced from 9,000 to 800 votes statewide in a race that may determine the control of the U.S. Senate.

Cortez Masto has outperformed expectations in Washoe County. The last Washoe County update was at 7:47 PM on November 10 and show Cortez Masto at 50.12 percent to Laxalt’s 47.17 percent, a margin of  4,973 votes.
