NRCC Launches Paid Ad Campaign Slamming Steven Horsford for Turning His Back on Nevada’s Troops

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has launched a blistering new paid ad campaign exposing Democrat Rep. Steven Horsford for voting against critical funding for U.S. service members, turning his back on the very heroes he represents in Congress.
The ad, which will run across digital platforms in Nevada’s 4th Congressional District, highlights Horsford’s votes against $8.5 billion in military pay raises and benefits, including funds to improve housing, health care, and child care for troops and their families.
The campaign also calls out Horsford for backing a massive tax hike that could cost military families thousands of dollars annually. “Our troops sacrifice everything for America,” the ad opens. “Democrats sacrifice their well-being for politics.”
The ad couldn’t hit closer to home. Horsford’s district is home to Nellis Air Force Base, Creech Air Force Base, and the Nevada Test and Training Range all of which host thousands of active-duty service members and military families who rely on Congress to fund the missions and services they depend on. But when Horsford had the chance to stand with them, he voted no.
“Out of touch Democrat Steven Horsford voted to shortchange our troops and squeeze military families with higher taxes,” said NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez. “Horsford turned his back on our heroes, and Nevadans won’t forget it.”
The NRCC’s ad points to two key votes that have sparked outrage among veterans and active-duty families alike. First, Horsford voted against a military funding package that included billions in troop pay raises, expanded access to child care, and much-needed repairs to military housing and medical facilities. These funds are critical for improving the lives of service members stationed across the country, including right here in Nevada. Then, Horsford doubled down on betrayal by supporting Democrats’ reckless tax-and-spend agenda—one that includes the largest tax hike in a generation, even hitting military families who are already shouldering the burden of defending our country.
The NRCC’s ad lays it out clearly: “Punishing our troops, making them pay thousands more. Hurting military families. Putting all of us in danger.”
This isn’t the first time Horsford has found himself at odds with the needs of his own district. From backing soft-on-crime policies to supporting open-border chaos, Horsford has consistently prioritized far-left ideology over the real-world concerns of the people he was elected to represent. But his votes against military pay and benefits may prove to be a breaking point.
Nevada is a proud military state. The families stationed at Nellis and Creech many of whom live in Horsford’s district deserve a representative who has their backs, not one who plays politics with their futures. With this campaign, the NRCC is putting Steven Horsford and the entire Democrat establishment on notice. Nevada’s military families are watching.
